Spanish Liga – Barcelona tunes-up for the 2010/ 2011 Season
FC Barcelona completed a great season last year when they won the La Liga championship. This time around they are working their way back to yet another great season in 2010-2011.
Josep Guardiola keeps his stand in regards to strategy and tactics. It seems as if Barcelona’s head coach will not be changing much of what has made him such a success in front of the team.
Since his arrival to the team, Guardiola has been given full liberty to work out his plan. The coach has expressed that that’s the only way he will have it, and that if things don’t work out as planned, he will be the first to step down from his post.
Guardiola believes that he should be a facilitator, someone who comes in simply to make things work smoother and more efficient. Make of Barcelona a team that would represent great things for Spain and Europe as well.
The Culé coach knows that to improve, to become an even more competitive team he needs to get his team back in the best possible shape. For this new season, Guardiola is aware down the road they are going to face great rivals like Real Madrid.
Guardiola knows that Real Madrid is not an easy team to defeat. El Real would not let forgive your team if it puts down its defense for one second. The main idea is to keep playing with enthusiasm, and keep on an aggressive mentality. He wants his team to go out on the field and seek victory after every chance.
A few weeks after before the start of the Spanish football season, Barcelona has yet to complete its return. This would seem a worrying factor, but Guardiola stays calm. The coach is confident working with the players we have available so far, although some pieces are missing to complete a powerful team, he prefers to focus on teamwork.
Pep Guardiola knows that there is no such team as a team with the perfect rooster. This is very difficult to achieve.
For this new season, there have been some changes in Barcelona. One of the most frequently mentioned is the departure of Ukrainian Dmytro Chygrynskiy, who returned to Shakhtar Donetsk after an irregular participation in the Catalan club.
The Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure is another player that will not part from Guardiola’s group in the 2010-2011 season.
Touré is a substantial loss for the team, as he is a very complete player with features difficult to find in the free agent market. Touré expressed his desire to leave FC Barcelona, and Guardiola could not help but to let him go.
Rafael Márquez’s continuity on the team is still uncertain. The Mexican has not yet reached agreement on its contract with the Spanish team. Thierry Henry is another player who was kept from being part of Guardiola’s new plans. The French striker is currently part of the New York Red Bulls at the MLS.
Barcelona has shown great interest in midfielder Cesc Fabregas. Fabregas, who plays in the English Premier League with Arsenal, is wanted in a couple of different top notch teams. According to Guardiola, it will not be an easy negotiation, because Real Madrid is also interested in the young Catalan.
For the moment, defender and striker David Villa and Adriano are the new acquisitions at Barcelona.
